Kasaba Bengre school students boycott classes to protest transfer of teachers

Mangaluru, Oct 16, 2019: Students of the Government Model Higher Primary School, Kasaba Bengre boycotted classes on October 16, Wednesday  in protest against the compulsory transfer of five teachers of the school.  Parents too have joined the protest and the students have demanded that Education Department officials should  visit the school.

The school had a total of 11 teachers of whom one had retired recently. Another five were recently transferred compulsorily, But  no new appointments were made in their place.  As the school reopened after Dasara holidays, the students realising there were no teachers resorted to the protest.

Even the school Development Committee and local DYFI have  backed the protest.

DYFI District President B K Imtiyaz who is also part of the protestors said  even the in-charge headmistress of the school has been transferred. Though three guest teachers have been appointed only one has reported to duty.
