Mangaluru, Dec 30, 2017: Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has reiterated her party’s determination towards a Congress Mukt Bharath and has said that Karnataka too would be free from Congress after the next elections.
Addressing party workers and leaders at the party office on December 29 Friday she said the people of the state have responded positively to the Parivartan Yatra of the BJP. She exhorted party workers to embark on a door to door campaign to sensitize people on the corrupt rule of the Congress.
The Minister said there was a need for a separate commission for Other Backward Classes on lines of minorities and SC ST Commission and added that the Union Government is contemplating setting up of such a commission. Nirmala Sitharaman also stated that strengthening the defence forces was of utmost priority.
The Minister was felicitated by offering her a Gitopadesha memento.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, ZP President Meenakshi Shantigodu, District BJP President Sanjeeva Matandoor and others were present.
