Karnataka colleges to resume regular classes from January 14

Bengaluru, Jan 10, 2021: The government of Karnataka has decided to reopen the colleges in the state for students of the first, second, and third year. It has been announced that the colleges in the state will resume regular classes from January 14 onwards.

Ashwath NarayanThe colleges in Karnataka will be reopening after being shut down for nearly 10 months and the classes for first, second and third-year students will resume after Sankranti, said Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C N Ashwath Narayan, who is also the higher education minister.

The classes for all colleges in Karnataka were suspended in March 2020 after the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country and the nationwide lockdown was announced. Since March, the classes in colleges are being conducted online.

The government of Karnataka has resumed the offline classes for students of classes 10 and 12, final year degree courses, and postgraduate courses in the state. The decision to resume classes for the rest of the classes will be announced soon.

The schools in Karnataka reopened from January 1 for students of classes 6 to 12. While regular classes were resumed for students of classes 10 and, the rest of the students have only been allowed to attend the Vidyagama programme.

The dates for the Karnataka PUC and SSLC exams 2021 have also been announced by the state education department. The dates of the exams have been confirmed by Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar.

The Karnataka SSLC 2021 examinations would be conducted in the first week of June while the Karnataka PUC 2021 examinations will be conducted in the month of May this year. The syllabus for the same has been shared with all the schools.
