Karnataka closes borders with Kerala ; DC issues orders

Mangaluru, March 21, 2020:  With nine Covid-19 positive cases reported from the neighbouring district of Kasargod district,   as a precautionary measure all vehicular traffic between Kerala and  Karnataka has been completely banned,  an order issued by Deputy  Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh has  said.

As  large number of people from Kasargod visiting Mangaluru on a daily basis for various works,   adequate precautionary measures are in place and the traffic ban between the two districts will be effective  from March 21,  2 pm till March 31.  In case of emergency, vehicles will be allowed to ply via Talapady tollgate, the DC said.

The border area roads including  Toominadu Road, Kedambady Padavu Road, Sunkadakatte- Mudipu Road, Kuruda Padavu Lalbagh Road, Muligadde Bayaru Road,  Pallattur-Eshwaramangala Road  will be closed from today.
