Karnataka SSLC 2014-15, CCE system details ready

Mangalore, June 27 , 2014: The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has come out with the final draft for the proposed ’Continuos and Comprehensive Evaluation’ CCE system for SSLC from 2014-15.


CCE systemAs part of the system, students will be evaluated both for curricular and extra-curricular activities. According to the official release issued by KSEEB, the total marks for the SSLC exam will remain the same as previous years, including the 125 marks for first language subjects. However, the marks in each subject will be divided into internals and externals.

In case of other subjects, 80 marks will be assigned for externals while 20 will be reserved for internal marks. In case of first language, 25 marks will go for internals while 100 will be dedicated to externals. Apart from this, the scores will also be divided into Part A and Part B. The Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) will be assigned for Part A while Part B will consist of evaluation for physical education, values, art and craft etc. (which will not have CGPA). Overall, if a student secures marks ranging 562 -625 he will get A+. Likewise, the grades will be as follows 500-561 (A), 437-499 (B+), 375-436 (B), 312 (C+) and 219-311 (C). In order to clear the exam in the externals, a student has to secure a minimum of 30 out of 100 and a minimum of 24 out of 80 in the other subjects. In all, a student has to secure 175 marks out of 500 to pass in the externals. However, the internal marks will not apply to private candidates.
