Karnataka Bank donates Rs.50 lakh to Karnataka Chief Minister’s relief fund

Mangaluru, Oct 03, 2019: Karnataka Bank has donated a sum of Rs. 50 lakhs to ‘Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority’ as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) towards the rehabilitation of victims and reconstruction of affected areas in the recent floods in Karnataka State.

Shri Mahabaleshwara M.S, MD & CEO of the Bank handed over the demand draft to Shri B.S. Yediyurappa, Honourable Chief Minister of Karnataka State at ‘Vidhana Soudha’, Bengaluru today. Handing over the demand draft  Shri Mahabaleshwara M S said “Karnataka Bank came into existence as a socio-economic movement. The Bank continues to hold that legacy intact as it completes more than 9 decades of purposeful existence staying committed to the social development of the society and this contribution is also in line with the tradition of the Bank. Karnataka State had not been subjected to floods of this magnitude for over a century. Though the loss of human lives cannot be compensated, we hope our small contribution in this direction will help in the efforts of the State under the able leadership of Shri B S Yediyurappa towards rebuilding the lives of those affected and in the reconstruction of the public infrastructure and lifting the spirits of the people.”


Accepting the demand draft Shri B S Yediyurappa, Chief Minister, thanked  Shri Mahabaleshwara M.S. for the kind gesture and wished the Bank all the best in its endeavours. Shri Kota Srinivas Poojary, Minister of Fisheries, Ports and Inland Transport of Karnataka and in-charge minister of Dakshina Kannada District and    Shri B S Raja, Deputy General Manager, Bengaluru – Region, were also present on the occasion.
