MD & CEO Mahabaleshwara said the bank had sanctioned Rs. 28.84 crore cumulatively for 917 projects under its CSR schemes across the country till January 2019.

The MD noted the bank added 38 new branches and 140 e-lobbies taking the total number of branches to 835 and e-lobbies to 300 in 22 States and two Union Territories in the current financial year.

The bank’s business turnover stood at Rs. 1.17 lakh crore, and the customers’ base at 10 million during the third quarter of 2018-19.

The Founders’ Day lecture was delivered by Sri Sukhabodhananda of Prasanna Trust, Bengaluru. He said one should not take life seriously. “Every problem will lead to a solution,” he said, urging people to have a positive approach in life.

A two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the martyrs of the Pulwama terrorist attack. Bank Chairman P. Jayaram Bhat and others were present.

Clarity in life matters more than knowledge, corporate guru Swami Sukhabodhananda of Prasanna Trust, Bengaluru, has said.  Had knowledge been the solution to problems, suicide cases would not have been so many among professionals, he added, during the Founders’ Day lecture of Karnataka Bank at the head office.

"The pursuit of real happiness lies in adapting a happy outlook in dealing with problems rather than looking at problems as a pain. Problems add to our experiences and make life more meaningful," he explained.

“We land in agony while seeking solutions because we blame the situations we come across. A mature mindset should be developed by practising compassion and counting one’s blessing, so that the situations are not perceived in a negative way. One needs to add an element of devotion in all our works. We have to discover the happiness from within,” said the seer.

The lecture was followed by Carnatic classical ensemble of flute, violin and mandolin by Vidushi Shantala Subramanyam, Vidhshi Akkarai Sornalatha and Vidushi U. Nagamani.
