Mangaluru, April 29, 2018: Senior Congressman Sam Pitroda has said that the upcoming Assembly election in Karnataka was vital in view of the political future of the state.

Addressing a press meet at the District Congress Office on April 29, Sunday he said  the Congress has presented its best manifesto in the state. Lashing out at critics of Congress who allege that the nation has not progressed since 70 years, he said saying so was an  insult to the people of the nation.

There is a need to  give a befitting reply to those who have been constantly criticising the  Congress on the development front, he said.  The Polio Eradication drive launched during the tenure of Rajeev Gandhi is now yielding result, Bengaluru has earned fame as a Silicon Valley, the life expectancy which was just 60 at the time of independence has increased, even infant mortality has reduced.  ’’Aren’t all these development?,’’ he questioned

He said though the Centre has  launched a Skill Development Scheme, it has failed in effectively implementing the same.
