Karkala Sub-Inspector Imran suspended

Udupi, Nov 7, 2015 : Udupi Superintendent of Police K. Annamalai has suspended Sub-Inspector of Police of Karkala Town Police Station Imran on the grounds of misconduct.

In a press release, SP Annamalai said that  Imran, who was Sub-Inspector (Law and Order) at Karkala Town Police Station, had gone with his wife to do some purchasing at a shop at Salmar in Karkala on the night of November 3.

A 30-year-old youth Raghavendra too had gone for purchasing at the same shop.

At the shop, Raghavendra’s accidentally touched the hand of SI Imran’s wife.

The SI then abused Raghavendra, and also assaulted him, he was then admitted to a hospital for treatment.

A case was registered at the Karkala Rural Police Station based on the information provided by the hospital. SP Annamalai said he had already directed Assistant Superintendent of Police Suman D.P. to conduct an enquiry into the matter and submit a report. Consequently, SI  Imran had been suspended from duty for misconduct.

SI Imran’s wife has also lodged a complaint at the Karkala Town Police Station stating that  Raghavendra had intentionally touched her.
