Karkala, August 19, 2015: A large group of activists from Bhajarang Dal and Hindu Jagarana Vedike who raided a place at Sankalakariya in Mundkur village have succeeded in rescuing 31 buffaloes which were found there. The cattle were later shifted to the Neelavara cattle shelter with the help of the rural police.
It has been gathered that Hindu activists raided the place following definite information that two persons namely Ibrahim and Ilyas who used to stock cattle at the place used to later transport them to butcheries in Kerala.
Meanwhile, the Panambur police have seized a truck with as many as 20 buffaloes crammed inside it in the most inhuman fashion near the MCF at Panambur. Hammabba (48) and Ibrahim (24) from Bantwal were arrested while Sinaz, the truck driver managed to flee. Interrogations of the accused revealed that they had taken the cattle from Sankalakariya.
