Kannada film ’Ijjodu’ to be released on July 23 at New Chitra

Mangalore, Jul 15: Mr. Sudheer Attavar said during a press conference held on July 15, Thursday that the Kannada film “Ijjodu,” which is based on the devadasi system of a few centuries ago, will be released in New Chitra Theatre on July 23, Friday.

Providing additional information about the new film, he said that it has been directed by M. S. Satyu and produced under the banner of Reliance Big Picture. The story is based on a novel by Anand. Since the theme of the film is of special academic interest, groups of 10 students will be given tickets at 50 percent discount. The first show at New Chitra in Mangalore and Harsha in Udupi will be free.

 

Renowned Bollywood actor Farooq Shiek and the film team will be present during the release. The event will be compered by Avinash, the radio jockey of Big FM, who is also the associate producer of Big FM.

An interactive programme with the director and his team will be held on July 24, Saturday at 11 a.m. Dr. P. N. Mayya, Prof. Radhakrishanan, Dr. Jacintha D’Souza, and Devdas Kapikad will participate in this interactive programme, said Avinash.
