Kannada Medium Schools need to be encouraged: P Jayarama Bhat

Mangaluru, Aug 26 ,2016: The Karnataka Bank Limited which is active in discharging its Corporate Social Responsibility believes in contributing to the all- round development of the society along with its business aspirations. In this direction, Bank has been supporting various social initiatives like infrastructure development of educational institutions, activities that promote cultural heritageetc.

MD & CEO of the Bank, Shri P Jayarama Bhat inaugurated one such initiative of the Bankat St. Sebastian Aided Higher Primary School located at Bendoorwell, Mangaluru by donating desks and benches worth Rs 2 lakhs for the classrooms of the school.Speaking on the occasion Shri P Jayarama Bhat said “There is an immediate need to encourage Kannada medium schools and to protect Kannada language. Kannada medium students should not feel disadvantaged in any way. Many of the students who have studied in Kannada medium of instruction havetoday assumed offices of high stature and have created a name for themselves in their respective areas.” Motivating the students he further added “success is sure to come one’s way if one is focused and puts in hard work. Gaining maximum knowledge should be one’s priority during their academic years at school so that it gives life a proper direction.”

The function was presided over by Superior Sr. Leena. She said that the Bank has always been in the forefront of social service and has been supporting the cause of common man. She wished the Bank all the best in achieving more growth. Shri. Srinivas Deshpande, Chief Manager – Public Relations, of the Bank was also present on the occasion. Headmistress of the school Sr. Mercine B.S welcomed the gathering. Ms. Leela, teacher of the school did the compering and Ms. Edna, teacher of the school proposed the vote of thanks.
