Mangaluru, May 28, 2017: Senior RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat has said that it was wrong to term the recent incident  in Kalladka as a communal incident. Labelling  them as communal disturbs the society, he said.

Addressing press persons here on May 28, Sunday, Dr Bhat said that majority of the population of Kalladka was that of Muslims while very few Hindus live there. He said on May 26, when  a youth named Yathin was heading towards Puttur, he was intercepted and abused by a group of seven to eight Muslim youth. This incident led to clash between two groups," he claimed and added that the police were aware of the incident but have still  booked  Mithun and two others  for Friday’s incident. He alleged that the youth have been falsely fixed in the case.  Kalladka claimed that Mithun and his friends only tried to save Yathin from Muslim youth who attacked him.

He also condemned the alleged forcible bundh and also questioned the police action of imposing Section 144. The incident is unnecessarily politicised, he alleged.

He also stressed the need for a thorough probe into the incident so that truth stands exposed.

Padmanabha Kottari, Sharan Pumpwell and others were present.
