Kadaba bandh partially successful

Kadaba, July 18, 2017: Bandh call given by Hindu organisations condemning the assault on Kadaba CA Bank vice president Ramesh Kalpure was partially successful in Kadaba.

Most of the shops and business establishments remained closed.

Though nationalised banks, special tahsildar’s office, government offices remained open, the movement of people in Kadaba was thin. The service vehicles that ferry passengers to Uppinangady Mardala, Kombaru had suspended their service.

At a meeting, BJP leader Krishna Shetty urged that the police initiate stringent action against the accused and appealed to the citizens to maintain peace. In connection with the assault, the Kadaba police have arrested six persons-Prakash, Thinson, Santhosh, Lijo, Sanosh, and Biju Mathew.

The police have booked them under IPC Section 143, 147, 341, 323, 326, 307, 395 and 149.

Kalpure was assaulted on Sunday while he was loading the purchased goods to his jeep. Following the incident, the police have tightened security in Kadaba.

Suprintendent of Poilce Sudheer Kumar Reddy said that strict action will be taken against those who create disturbances and spoil the peace in the area.
