KSTDC’s ’Kudla’ tour, 6 places in Mangaluru covered

Udupi, April 27, 2016: The KSTDC,  Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation’s daily sight seeing of ‘Kudla’, on a pilot basis, has commenced trips, officials hope to gradually increase the trips as per need.


kstdc 2An responsible representative of the KSTDC told media that 17 persons went on the bus on Ar 23, Saturday and 39 tourists, that is a full bus, on April24, Sunday.

The coach covers 6 points on the tour in a day, popular spots with the tourists were :  Dr. Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama and tree park of the Forest Department at Tannirbavi beach, it was stated.

The official said that the time slot for the attractions at Pilikula was two-and-a-half hours, but people took more time here and enjoyed the attractions. KSTDC will have to adjust the tour time slots soon.

An official said that it may be good the authorities at Pilikula have a mini-bus facility or tempo facility within the campus to visit the Guttu Mane, boating lake, water park and the biological park.

S.A. Prabhakara Sharma, executive director of the Nisargadhama promised to consider the same, adding that the KSTDC could take its bus to all places within the campus. But the mini-bus or tempo facility could be introduced to other general tourists. The matter will be discussed.

The KSTDC representative said that tourists would have to book the tickets for the city tour on-line by logging on towww.karnatakaholidays.net. They could also book the tickets at the counter of the KSTDC at Mangaluru City Corporation’s commercial building at Lalbagh which is next to the corporation’s head office.

The tour coach, in an air-conditioned bus, starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 7 p.m. covering Kudroli Gokarnanatheswara Temple, Kadri Manjunatha Swamy Temple, Mangaladevi Temple, St. Aloysius chapel, Dr. Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama and Tannirbavi tree park and beach.  The pick up point would be KSTDC Information and booking office at Lalbagh. The fare per person at present is Rs. 190 excluding food and entrance fees.
