KSRTC buses to rural areas needed - DYFI demand

Mangalore, Sep 30, 2014:   Addressing the protestors, DYFI State President Muneer Katipalla said that the number of buses have not been increased in proportion to the increase in population in Ullal area.  A few private bus owners who possess the permits control the entire bus transportation system.

The bus owners reduce the trips on Sundays without any intimation and cause inconvenience to the passengers.  Demanding to check the domination of private bus owners in Mangalore assembly constituency limits and to introduce KSRTC buses, the members of DYFI Dakshina Kannada district committee staged a protest in front of the RTO’s office on  September 29.

Owing to inadequate  buses, the residents of Amblamogar, Harekala, Sajipa, Mudipu, Manjanadi, Naringana, Montepadavu, Kinya, Belma are met inconveniences. The men and boys hang on to their life in the overcrowded bus during fails to provide solution to the problem, then protest will be intensified.

The protestors also wanted action against private bus ownrs at Elyarpadavu in Belma village and against those who cut trips to provide services to private functions. Earlier, protestors took out a procession. Commissioner’s office to RTO office. Assistant Regional Transport Officer A R Sridhar Naik received memorandum from the protestors.
