The incident occurred when the KSRTC bus remained stuck in the heavy traffic  on the NH on Sunday after an autorickshaw tried to sneak through the little space available. The traffic cops who were on duty reportedly reprimanded the bus driver who argued that he had nothing to do with the traffic blockade. He also took exception to the notice served on him.

Matters were further aggravated after long queues of vehicles were seen on either side of the road. KU Belliappa, Bantwal Circle Inspector, Nandakumar, SI, Rakshith, Rural SI and Chandrashekharayya, Traffic Sub-Inspector rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.

It was also noticed that a large number of bus passengers and members of the general public backed the bus driver in this case.
