KSPCB Felicitates APD Foundation with Excellence Award

Mangalore, Aug 10,2017: Mangalore based Anti Pollution Drive (APD) Foundation has been recognized with excellence award by Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPBC) in the category ‘NGO for Contribution towards Environmental Awareness in D. K. District.’

APD Team comprising organization’s Founder Abdullah A. Rehman, Director Arjun Rai, Co-coordinators Kruthika Shenoy, Ruhia Hussain, Naveen D’souza, Asif Mohammed and Dhanush Desai received the award from Sri Ramanath Rai, Hon’ble Minister for Forests, Environment, Ecology, Government of Karnataka and District In-charge Minister during the Nature Conservation Day 2017 celebration and District Environment Awards Distribution Ceremony held on 8th August 2017 at Town Hall, Mangalore.

Mayor Smt. Kavita Sanil, MLA J. R. Lobo and Sri Lakshman, Chairman of KSPBC were present on the occasion. The award comprised of a citation and a certificate.

Founded on Gandhi Jayanti Day in 2015, APD Foundation has been engaged in wide ranging research, awareness and eradication activities against pollution and for promoting clean environment. It has been closely co-coordinating with government agencies like Traffic Police Department, State Pollution Control Board and Mangalore City Corporation for monitoring air quality, vehicular air pollution, solid waste management and waste segregation etc.

APD Foundation has also partnered with Antony Waste Handling Cell Pvt. Ltd., for undertaking its Information-Education-Communication (IEC) activities throughout the year within Mangalore City Corporation limits.
