Mangaluru, Nov 5, 2017: The First KSHEMA Alumni Meet was held at the KSHEMA Auditorium at Derlakatte on November 4, Saturday. Prof. K Bhyrappa, Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University inaugurated the meet.
In his inaugural address, he said the medical profession was one of the most respected professions in the world. Indian doctors are much in demand across the globe, he said and exhorted old students to contribute towards the development of their alma mater.
N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University, said the fields of medicine and social service have a close bonding. The KS Hegde Hospital and Medical College could see development due to the efforts of several doctors. The Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmacy has been adjudged the seventh best pharmacy college of the nation, he said.
Dr M Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor of Nitte University said the University has a ranking of 83 from among the 750 universities in the nation. This has been possible due to the sacrifice and hard efforts of the chancellor and all those associated with the institutions, he added.
A souvenir ’Smaran’ was released on the occasion. Dr Satish Kumar Bhandari, Dean, Dr Nirmal Babu, President of Alumni Association, Dr Nikhil, Organising Secretary and Dr Nikhil S Shetty, Vice President were also on the dais.
