KPCC Chief D K Shivakumar to appear before Sullia court on Oct 5

Sullia, Oct 04, 2021: KPCC Chief D K Shivakumar will be appearing before a  Sullia  court on October 5, Tuesday in connection with the case of arrest of a man who called him to  speak about power problems when hewas the Power Minister.

Shivakumar had abstained from hearing despite summons thirce. In this backdrop the court had issued a warrant on September 29 and had asked police officials to produce him before the court.

In this backdrop Shivakumar  is expected to arrive for hearing.

 Sai Giridhar Rai, former president of Bellare Merchants Association had  telephoned Shivakumar, then a minister on February 28, 2016 and had apprised him about the power problem. It is alleged that there was an altercation and even use of abusive words following which  Shivakumar had ensured a police complaint was lodged aginst the person by Sullia in-charge AEE Harish Nayak. Following this Rai was arrested. He had subsequently moved the court against Shivakumar.
