KMC alumnus to attend Harvard conference

Manipal, Feb 17, 2018: An alumnus of Kasturba Medical College (KMC) - Manipal, and now a PG resident, Sukriti Arora is among the few applicants from India selected to attend the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) Harvard Conference from February 16 to19, 2018, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.

HPAIR is an internationally-recognised student-run organisation at Harvard College, offering a forum to facilitate discussion on economic, political, and social issues relevant to the Asia-Pacific region. Past speakers at the conferences include former President of the Republic of Korea and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Kim Dae-Jung, Governor General of Australia Peter Hollingworth, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, President of Singapore S.R. Nathan, former U.S. Ambassador to Japan John Thomas Schieffer, and former President of Goldman Sachs Philip Murphy.

“Sukriti Arora’s attendance at HPAIR’s conference will greatly benefit our international dialogue on issues relevant to Asian and international relations. It will be an opportunity for Sukriti Arora to develop crucial professional skills,” said Ashiley Lee and Scott Xiao, Co-Executive Directors, Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations. “The 300 delegates from all over the world to HPAIR’s Harvard Conference are students of the highest caliber,” it was said in a letter to Ms. Arora.

Ms. Arora said she was overwhelmed to be part of HPAIR 2018. “It is a unique opportunity to learn along with the best in the world. As an alumnus, and now a PG resident, I thank KMC Manipal for everything,” she said.
