Justice B K Somashekar has been quoted as saying: “All of us request the government to give reasonable time. We are all human beings. We are working hard despite problems.” He said that several Hindutva activists and policemen have not yet deposed before it. He requested Prasanna Deshpande, the government advocate, to bring these facts to the notice of the government. He said that the drafting of the final report also requires time.

Stressing that the interim report submitted by the commission is not final, he informed that the commission has said only 10 percent of what it had collected in its interim report.

M Narayana Reddy, the advocate for the police, said that a number of police officials have been transferred and that it was difficult to call them back to Mangalore. Mr. Somashekar asked Reddy to summon them from wherever they are. He also angrily said that the commission had collected enough material to "hang them."
