Mangaluru Jan 26, 2016: Alfalah and Mercy Friends jointly organized a programme to honour brave soldiers and also the families of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of the nation on January 26, Tuesday at School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru.
Speaking on the occasion, former Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde said that it was lack of contentment that leads to greed among people.
"Youth need to be more responsible to eradicate corruption, while judiciary also needs to be strengthened in order to ensure speedy delivery of justice," Justice Santhosh Hegde said. He further added that compulsory military training should be implemented in the country as it provides more opportunity for the youth to serve their motherland.
State Health Minister UT Khader said the nation can prosper and progress when the constitutional guidelines are adhered to.
Indian Soldiers and families of martyrs who sacrificed their lives while serving the nation were felicitated during the occasion. Among them were Chandappa DS, Sesappa Gowda, Chandrashekar and Parameshwar KS.
Managing Director of Alfalah, Yousuf S, Mohammed Hanif Haaji, Rashid Vitla, Sujah Mohammed, and Evelyn Bennis were present.
