Mangaluru, June 24, 2019: Muhammad Arif Padubidri, senior reporter of Vijaya Karnataka in Mangaluru, has been chosen for the first ever Sukesh Kumar endowment Brand Mangaluru Award given by DK District Working Journalists’ Union. The Award is given for an outstanding report upholding humanitarian values and harmony.
A report entitled "Bhajanotsavakke Muslimarinda Akki Horekanike" published on April 9, 2018 has been chosen for this Award which carries a cash prize of Rs 5,001, a citation and a memento. A jury team comprising Dr Vasanth Kumar Perla, former director of Mangaluru Akashvani and Smitha Shenoy, Head of the Journalism Department of Besant College, chose the Awardee.
The Award will be presented to Arif by State Additional Director General of Police Kamal Panth during the DK District Journalists’ Conference to be held at Kudmul Rangarao Town Hall on July 1.
