Journalist Imtiyaz conferred Pa. Go. Award

Mangaluru, Feb 27, 2019:  The Pa.Go. Award  which is being given to an outstanding journalist every year, has been conferred to   Imtiyaz Shah Thumbay from Vartha Bharathi.  District Information Officer K Rohini and  veteran journalist late Padyana Gopalakrishna’s wife Savitri conferred the Award on Imtiyaz on February 27, Wednesday at a function held at Press Club.

 

His article "Koduva Kaigaligaage Kaayuttiruva Kodagu"  published in Vartha Bharathi on August 31, 2018 was chosen for this award. The article was based on the hardships faced in rebuilding Kodagu which was devastated by  massive floods and  landslides of last year,  .

Srinivas Nayak Indaje, President of DK District Working Journalists’ Union presided over the function. Senior Journalist Manohar Prasad, Patrika Bhavan Trust President Anand Shetty,  Press Club President Annu Mangaluru and others were present.
