The reason for the problem though is not known, residents point out that Jalligudde area lacks proper drainage system too adding to the existing problems.  There are nearly 200 houses in the area and the scarcity of water has made life more difficult for them.

Residents complain that so far the elected representatives have not come to their aid. Many residents even aired their problems and the difficulties they faced in fetching water. Many have been using rain water to drink after filtering it.

The locals have already complained to the Mayor. The residents say though the Mayor promised to visit their area on July 23, she failed to keep up her words.
