Mangaluru, Dec 16, 2018: District JD(S) Chief Mohammad Kunhi has said that there is no opposition from Muslims for the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. "The issue could have been settled amicably without demolition of the masjid," Kunhi said while speaking to reporters here on December 15, Saturday.
"No political party is against the construction of Ram Mandir, the BJP is unnecessarily politicising the issue," he said.
Launching a tirade against the local MP, he said the MP was only giving false assurances and recalled the assurances given by the MP with regard to railway link to Mangaluru airport, to close down the toll gate near NITK and also to complete Pumpwell flyover at the earliest.
He said the JD(S) was against the moves of the Centre to privatise Mangaluru International Airport. The Chief Minister has already written a letter to the Centre in this regard, Kunhi informed.
