M. G. Hegde, the JD(S) member, challenged the Bajrang Dal to provide shelter to orphan children in their homes if they feel that Christians are trying to convert them. Flaying Jagadish Shenava, he said that he is actively involved in attacking orphanages because he wants to get famous in the city. Urging the BJP and the Bajrang Dal to investigate orphanages and submit memorandums to the district administration if they find any cases of forcible conversion, he said that even the JD(S) is willing to support them if this turns out to be true.

Criticizing the RSS of holding a lot of property in Karnataka, he said that the RSS is providing assistance to construct marriage halls, but does not construct any orphanage for the poor. He also criticized Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and DC Subodh Yadav for failing to take any action against the Bajrang Dal.

Azeez, the former member of the ZP, expressed his appreciation of Christian institutions and orphanages for doing something that nobody else is doing. Amarnath Shetty, J. S. Mohammed, Shashidhar, and Mohammed Suralpady also participated in the protest.
