JD(S) Youth Wing Chief seeks steps to solve sand shortage problem

Mangaluru Mar 15, 2016: Dakshina Kannada JD(S) Youth wing President Akshith Suvarna has urged the Deputy Commissioner to taks steps to mitigate the problems arising in Dakshina Kannada district due to sand scarcity.

Speaking to the Press at Hotel Wood Lands on Tuesday, March 15, he said that sand has been unavailable for the common man since Jan 16.  Even the sand rate has been increased to Rs 15,000 making it extremely difficult for the common man to avail sand for construction works, he added.

Suvarna took strong exception to the axing of several trees for the construction of a musical fountain in deer park. The party is also strongly against the implementation of Yettinahole project, he said and appealed to JD(S) Leader Kumaraswamy to strive to secure justice for people of coastal people.
