JCB brake failure at Karnad : 2 labourers crushed to death

Mangalore, July 4, 2013 : A JCB  earth mover which suffered a brake failure, claimed the lives of two labourers at Karnad  near Mulki on July 3, Wednesday.

 

 

The mishap occurred when the two men, both workers of Ramky group had taken shelter near a house as it was raining heavily and were waiting for the rain to recede. Even as they were standing there, the JCB which was at work nearby suddenly came in reverse and knocked them down fatally. Both  lost their lives in the tragic mishap. Sources said the JCB suffered a brake failure.

The deceased are Nagappa Gowda from Hassan and Somalingappa from Gadag. Their bike which was parked nearby as well as the house was damaged in the mishap.

Mulki police have registered a case.
