Ivan takes exception to collection of bus, train fares from migrant workers

Mangaluru, May 11, 2020:   MLC Ivan D’Souza has taken  strong exception to the collection of  money from the migrant workers for whom special trains were arranged to return to their home town.

 

 

 

He claimed that Rs 40 was collected from the poor  workers for the KSRTC bus fare upto the railway station and Rs 960 towards train fare and food.

Stating that the officials were claiming that the money was collected as per an order, he  said it was the responsibility of the district administration to ensure safe return of the  migrant worker to their home towns.

Ivan also urged Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar to look into this issue.
