Mangaluru, Feb 15, 2020: MLC Ivan D’Souza has alleged that there was a hidden agenda behind the decision to hold a two day special session on the Constitution in the Karnataka Assembly from March 2.
Speaking to reporters at the Congress Office here on February 15, Saturday, he said there is a suspicion that the session aimed at defending the CAA and NRC. He said holding such a special session was the heights of misuse of power by the Government and the Speaker.
He questioned why the special session on Constitution was convened and asked the Speaker to reconsider the decision.
Referring to the Bidar school sedition case over an anti-CAA play, Ivan urged the government to drop the sedition charges. At the same time he questioned why a sedition case was not filed when the Babri Masjid demolition was re-enacted at the school of RSS leader Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat.
