Mangalore, April 19, 2013: It would be a mirage to think that the BJP would  come to power in the state again, said senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojari.

Speaking to reporters at the party’s election office in the city on April 19, Friday,  Poojari was critical of the BJP election manifesto released on Friday.

“The manifesto is named ‘Towards Progress.’ How can the party which itself is heading towards destruction take the state on the path of progress?,” Poojari questioned.
He also termed as ridiculous the promise by BJP to provide uninterrupted power supply at a time when the state has faced unprecedented power crisis during its rule.Poojari said the disillusioned voter has decided to teach the BJP a lesson.

Referring to the allegations leveled against Mangalore South candidate JR Lobo by the BJP candidate Yogish Bhat, Poojari said  Bhat  was ignorant about the rule which states that a candidate has to give details in the affidavit only if an FIR has been lodged against him.

Following the press meet, Poojari continued his Padayatra on Day two in support of Lobo. The candidate JR Lobo,  TK Sudhir, Corporator Naveen D’Souza, Balaraj Rai and several others were present.
