Irene Pinto Awarded for Konkani Literary work

Mangaluru, Feb 16, 2016: Well known Konkani litterateur Irene Pinto is Awarded with late Victor Rodrigues Memorial Konkani Literary Award – 2016 on 14.02.2016, Sunday evening at Urwastores Samanvaya Hall.

Managing Trustee of Samanvaya NGO Rev. Dr. Pius Pinto & the director Rev. Dr. Ronald Cutinha conferred the Award on Irene Pinto. The award consists of Cheque for Rs. 10,000/-, Citation, Memento, Shawl, Garland Flowers, Fruits & Honour. C.J.S Taccode introduced Irene Pinto.

The Awardee Mrs. Irene Pinto reiterated her commitment to Konkani literature and thanked Samanvaya for recognizing her work. She cherished her memories of yester years as a Konkani writer.
 
Samanvaya, a leading NGO of Mangaluru in its 17 years existence has disbursed over Rs. 1.5 crores free Scholarships to students of PUC, Degree and Vocational Courses; conducted about 1200 seminars/workshops/trainings on various social, environmental & HRD matters and Skill Development of more than 600 women through 23 free Tailoring and 7 Embroidery courses.

 
Fr Ronald Cutinha Welcomed, Celine Rodrigues proposed Vote of Thanks and Dolphy Lobo, Cascia Compeered. Life of late Victor Rodrigues was presented to the audience throught Power point. Victor Rodrigues’ family members Santhosh/Riana and over 90 konkani writers and well wishers attended the ceremony.
