The International Jawa and Yezdi Day is celebrated during the second week of July all over the world in order to make the bikers aware of these vintage beauties and to preserve them because their number is declining throughout the world.

A total of 36 Jawas and Yezdis were lined up near City Gate in the evening. The collection included a few modified versions of Yezdis too. Mr. Mazar Khan of Madikeri had modified his 1976 model to look like a World War II Era Triumph in Bangalore. He had journeyed to Mangalore on that bike a few days back. He said that he had even gone to Jaipur and Maharashtra on that bike. Mr. Arun Shiri had a maroon mind condition Jawa from the 70s, which looks brand new and is in perfect working condition.

The owners rode their bikes through the city from City Gate to Padua High School, where they had a 2-minute photo shoot. Later, they rode through Kadri, Bejai, Lalbhag, Ladyhill, Kottar, and then the beach. The owners interacted with one another and spoke about their bikes. The local people enjoyed the sound and sight of these bikes and photographers had a great time taking pictures.
