Inter-state dacoits nabbed

Uppinangady, Apr 11, 2018: Two members of a  gang of inter-state dacoits  have been arrested by the Uppinangady Police  on April 11, Wednesday.  The gang was said to be behind robberies in Kedila, Ichlampady and Dharmasthala.

 

Those arrested are Ilyas alias Abdul Razak (34) and Nelson CV alias Wilson Kilanur (30) of Trissur in Kerala.

They were wanted  in connection with the robbery in the house of an ex-serviceman named Narayana Pillai on March 21, at Uppinangady. The duo had threatened the inmates before decamping with the booty.

Similar dacoities had earlier taken place  at Dharmasthala in November 2017 and at Kedila in Puttur in December 2017.

Both were arrested at Periyashanthi in Kaukrady village. They have been produced before the court and remanded to six days of police custody.
