Installation of mobile tower in Pandeshwar opposed by the residents

Mangaluru, July 13, 2017: Reports say that MCC -  Mangaluru City corporation on Wednesday sent  notice to stop installation works of Vodofone company mobile tower at Dummappa compound, Greenland Colony near Pandeshwar.

Greenland Colony’s residents approached Mangalore Mayor Kavitha Sanil and commissioner against installing a mobile tower at their residential area. Sai Kiran Apartment belonging to Jayakumar,at Greenland Colony, has built a large mobile tower by Indos Pvt. Ltd. Limited for Vodofone company.

Local people are saying that the nearby residents requested the building owners not to construct the tower in a residential area. The owner hid the truth and said it was a water tank,  but he, constructed a 30-foot tall mobile tower on a three-story building it is said.

Residents also said that the works had been progressing over a year. After getting Completion Certificate from MCC, the owner constructed the foundation for the tower in third floor. It is a violation of the law.

But the building owner said, “I have a high court order to build a tower. There is no barrier to building a mobile tower.”
