Inspector Pramod Kumar has arrested the actual accused, claim complainants

Mangaluru, Dec 12, 2015 : If  several including Mangaluru North MLA  Mohiuddin Bava had claimed that Aboobakker Siddiqui who was arrested by Mangaluru Rural Circle Inspector Pramod Kumar in connection with the Ulaibettu clashes of last year, was innocent,  complainants in the case have come forward to state that Pramod Kumar has arrested the actual accused in the case.

A young girl who had filed a  sexual harassment case was also present at the press meet convened on December 11, Friday alleged that Aboobakker had assaulted  them when they were returning from a Mehendi functiom by an autorickshaw." Even my brother was beaten up, she said and stated that she could identify the accused at the police station.

On the claims made by Ulaibettu Nagarika Samithi that Aboobakker was innocent, she said she failed to understand from where the Samithi which was non-existent till now had emerged all of a sudden and suspected that it’s sole intention was to protect Aboobakker. " The MLA who did not speak up when we were assaulted was now trying to prove that  the accused was innocent," she alleged.

Ulaibettu resident Gangadhar who also addressed the press meet blamed Aboobakker and nearly 200 other persons for assaulting them at Ulaibettu junction. He also stated  that Ulaibettu people who had to live in fear following the incident are now happy that peace has prevailed after inspector Pramod assumed office.
