Indian couple from Basrur stabbed near Munich in Germany, husband dead

New Delhi, Mar 30, 2019 : An Indian man was killed and his wife injured after they were "stabbed by an immigrant" near Munich in Germany, Foreign minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted on March 30, Saturday, IndiaToday reported.

"Indian couple Prashant and Smita Basarur were stabbed by an immigrant near Munich. Unfortunately, Prashant has expired. Smita is stable. We are facilitating the travel of Prashant’s brother to Germany. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family," Sushma Swaraj posted on Twitter.


Sushma Swaraj said she has asked Indian mission to take care of the victim’s children.

"I appreciate the good work by @cgmunich. I have asked our mission to take care of their two children," Sushma Swaraj said in another tweet.

Sushma Swaraj said that she was a chowkidar, guarding the interests of the Indian nationals abroad.

"Because I am doing Chowkidari of Indian interests and Indian nationals abroad," Sushma Swaraj tweeted.
