Illegal sand mining: 11 boats seized

Mangaluru, Dec 28, 2018 : 11 boats engaged in illegal sand mining at Jeppinamogaru and Arkula Dakke were seized by officials of Mines and Geology department on December 28, Friday.

 

 

The raid operation was carried out by Assistant commissioner Ravichandra Nayak, officials of department of Mining and Geology Moorthy and Padmashree. As per the reports officials had granted permission to use three boats and at the time of inspection it was found he was using five boats for mining in Arkula Dakke. Therefore have seized the two extra boats. But at Jeppinamogaru the boat owner  himself lacked license or permission. The officials seized all nine boats used in the illegal activity. A total of 11 boats were seized.
