Illegal sand extraction: Three boats seized

Mangaluru, Feb 12, 2019: The Bajpe police along with officials from Revenue and Mines and Geology Departments on Sunday seized three boats which were being used to extract sand illegally from the Phalguni (Gurupura) in Addur village.

A communiqué from Mangaluru police said the boats were worth about Rs. 5 lakh. Assistant Commissioner of Police (North) Srinivasa Gowda guided the operation led by Bajpe Police Inspector S. Parashivamurthy. Padmashree from Mines and Geology and Asif and Prameela from Revenue Departments participated.
