Illegal cattle transport, Two arrested in Uppinangady

Uppingady, Sep 19, 2016: Upinnggady police arrested two persons engaged in illegal cattle trafficking on September 17, Saturday at night at Nekkiladi in Uppinangady.

The accused are Umar(63), a resident of Chennarayapatna and Shareef(20), from Bantwal. They were transporting cattle from Hassan to Mangaluru.

It is said that duo were nabbed by police during patrolling at night. They have seized the vehicle and rescued five cattles. Both were to custody and booked under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
