Mangaluru, Nov 04, 2017: Expelled Congressman Harikrishna Bantwal has alleged that DK District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai has illegally secured land under the Akrama Sakrama scheme in the name of his wife.
Speaking to reporters here on November 4, Saturday, Harikrishna Bantwal while producing some documents said the Minister had secured 2.04 acre land in survey number 20/2 and 1 acre land in survey number 38/2, a total of 3.04 acres in the name of his wife Shaila R Rai (Dhanabhagya R Rai) at Maani village in Bantwal taluk.
He further alleged that a rubber plantation has been developed on a ten acre land out of the 30 acre government land on survey number 97/1 in Kallige village which is close by the residence of the minister. Harikrishna Bantwal sought an explanation from the minister in this regard and also demanded a probe by the ACB. He also said the DC must investigate the case.
Stating that he was aware of the irregularities earlier itself but had remained silent as long as he was in the Congress, Harikrishna Bantwal said he has decided to speak out as he was receiving threat letters ever since he accused Rai of offending senior leader Janardhana Poojary.
