Illegal assets in Minister Rai’s wife’s name, alleges Harikrishna Bantwal

Mangaluru, Nov 04, 2017:  Expelled Congressman Harikrishna Bantwal has alleged that  DK District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai has illegally secured land under the Akrama Sakrama scheme in the name of his wife.

Harikrishna Ba..Speaking to reporters here on November 4, Saturday, Harikrishna Bantwal while producing some documents said  the Minister had   secured 2.04 acre land  in survey number 20/2 and 1 acre land in survey number 38/2,   a total of 3.04 acres in the name of his wife Shaila R Rai (Dhanabhagya R Rai) at Maani village in Bantwal taluk.

He  further alleged that a rubber plantation has been developed on a ten acre land out of the 30 acre government land on survey number 97/1 in Kallige village which is close by the residence of the minister. Harikrishna Bantwal  sought an explanation from the minister in this regard and also demanded a  probe by the ACB. He also said the DC must investigate the case.

 Stating that he was aware of the irregularities earlier itself  but had remained silent as long as he was in the Congress, Harikrishna Bantwal  said he has decided to speak out as he was receiving threat letters ever since he  accused Rai of offending   senior leader  Janardhana Poojary.
