Bengaluru, Apr 16, 2016: The CID sleuths who are investigating into the Second PUC question paper leak issue, have on April 15, Friday conducted simultaneous raids on as many as 11 private colleges in the state including the Expert College and Mahesh College in Mangaluru, say some media reports.
The raids were conducted in colleges at Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Ballary and Tumakuru under the leadership of CID DIG Sonia Narang. The sleuths have reportedly grilled the principals, lecturers and staff of the colleges concerned. They have also seized the CCTV cameras of some colleges.
The raided institutions include the Narayana College at Vidyaranyapuram, Chaitanya College , Deeksha College of Yelahanka, Presidency College of Kempapura, Brindavana College of Sanjaynagar and Royal Concorde College of Kalyana Nagara, Deeksha College of Tumakuru and Narayana and Chaitanya Colleges of Ballary.
"There was information that these colleges have resorted to irregularities to better their performance and enhance their prestige. The tutorials located close by these colleges too have been raided and documents seized,’’ officials have informed.
"The question papers reached students through Whatsapp through students of these colleges itself. As there was a re-exam on April 12, we didn’t bother to investigate. Now that the exams are over, we questioned over 300 students and got the relevant hints," officials said.
"When we had doubts regarding the role of the colleges in question paper leak we reviewed the Call Detail Records of some staff and learnt that they were in touch with those responsible for question paper leak. Four persons have been taken to custody and brought to Bengaluru,’’ sources revealed.
