Husainabba death case : BJP protests against arrest of party activists

Udupi, June 06, 2018:  The Udupi district unit of the BJP staged a protest in front of the  DC office here on June 6, Wednesday to  condemn the arrest of the party  workers as well as activists of Hindu organizations in connection with the  death of cattle trader Husainabba at Perdoor.

Addressing the protestors, Shobha said the police must stop arresting the Hindu activists until the forensic report is out. She claimed  that the  activists had  acted according to law in the Perdoor case. The problems arising out of cattle smuggling  can be stopped if cattle slaughter is banned, she said. 

Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat who also spoke said "Two cows had died during transportation. Everyone is speaking about Husainabba, but not about the cows. Doesn’t the life of the cows have any value?" he questioned.  He also demanded a CBI probe into the case.

District BJP Chief Mattar Ratnaker Hegde, MLAs Haladi Srinivas Shetty, Lalaji Mendon, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, VHP District President Vilas Nayak and others were present.
