General Secretary Sudatta Jain complained in his protest address that the hospital lacks basic facilities, adding that in case of accidents, labourers have to be shifted to private hospitals that charge high fees. Stating that they have been demanding better facilities at the hospital for the past 2 years, he said that the officials and people’s representatives have simply made empty promises. He said that this time the Sangha will fight till their demands are met.

The DC’s office rushed a revenue department representative to alert higher authorities to the strike.
