Mangaluru, April 29, 2018: Speaking at an interaction programme on April 28, Saturday,  Actor and social activist Prakash Rai has called upon voters to ensure that a hung Legislative Assembly is not formed in the state.  He added the formation of the hung assembly will lead to horse trade.

Expressing his apprehension that the BJP has created fear in the state, he appealed to the voters to exercise their franchise without any fear.

He said an attempt is being made to form an alternative force in politics. “Many people, including K Chandrashekar Rao of Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Mamatha Bannerjee of Trinamool Congress, Naveen Patnayak of Biju Janata Dal and Kamal Hassan who has floated a new party, have discussed the issue several times,” he said and added that it will take shape within the next six months.

“The BJP has projected me as anti-Hindu. Mangaluru City South constituency candidate D Vedavyasa Kamath’s wife has sought vote in the name of Hindu religion. I have shared that video in Twitter. For this, BJP workers have criticised me in a derogatory manner. They have tweeted on my personal life,” he charged.

“Marriage is related to my personal life. It is true that I have married twice. I divorced my first wife. She is the mother for my children. They have raised the issue of my son’s death as well in the tweets. A man will understand the pain of losing a son, only after he sees such an incident in his life,” he said.

He appealed not to engage in politics in the name of religion. “I am not against any religion,” he said.
