Hundreds bid tearful adieu to retired DySP B J Bhandary

Mangaluru, June 2, 2015: The family friends and Police personnels gathered at the premises of Police commissioner’s office on Tuesday to pay thier respect to Retired DySP B J Bhandary, who was killed in an accident at Brahmawar on June 1.

The mortal remains were brought to the DK District CRP ground here. Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, IGP Amrit Paul, SP Dr. Sharanappa, DCP of Crime Vishnuverdhan paid their respect to the departed soul.

B J Bhandary served as DySP in DK District. He is survived by wife Prafulla who works in Corporation Bank Mangaluru, Son Rohan who is pursing his education and a daughter roshini who is also a Corporation Bank employee in Bengaluru.

Retired police officers’ association general secretary Manjunath said "He was elected as president of our association on May 9, 2014. He worked hard day and night to get justice for the retired police officer. After he became the president of association he fought for the welfare of the retired police officers.

He also fought for canteen facilities and arogya Bhagya for the retired police officers, Nobody can fill the void he has left behind."


Later, the mortal remains were taken to Bhandary’s house in Padil and then to Nandigudda for the final rites.
