Srinath, who headed the team, said they used 15 kg of biscuits and eco-friendly cardboard to build the idol. “It took us three days to complete it,” he said on August 24, Thursday.

These artists have earlier made attractive idols of Ganesh using paper cups, baskets, handmade paper, drawing sheets, bamboo materials, arecanut leaves, among other things. “We want to spread the message of celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi in an eco-friendly manner,” he said.

The idol is on display at a two-wheeler showroom on Vidyasamudra Road. Visitors can catch a glimpse from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for a week.
