House in Alape destroyed in fire

Mangalore, May 20, 2012: A house in Alape, near Bajal caught fire at 10:00 a.m. on May 20, Sunday.

Narayan, the owner of the house, works at Devi Printing Press in Hampankatta. He lit the lamp during his morning prayers and went for work. His wife and children had gone to Bangalore. Since there was no one at home, the flame from the lamp could have spread to the rest of the house.

 

 

 

When the neighbors noticed that the house was on fire, it was too late. They immediately informed Mr. Narayan and called the fire brigade. 

The fire has caused a loss of Rs. 2 lakh to the owner. The Kankanady police have registered a case.
